OFFROAD taking Manila by Storm

OFFROAD, a 5 member K-pop boy group consisting of Lee Daewon, Jung Deongsu (Rio,) Choi Habin, Park Harang, and Kang Namhyun (Kino,) is having a series of tours in Manila. The boys also got to meet, greet, and play with their Filipino fans during their recent fan meeting, held at the Korean Cultural Center.

One of their first stops was to meet with the press last October 6 at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas. During the press conference, the boys expressed their love and eagerness to meet their Filipino fans, as it’s their first time to visit the Philippines. They also hope to craft the perfect stage for them as they work harder in every performance they’ll have. They also stated that they want to go to Cebu and Boracay, and try even “Balut”. They even said that BIGBANG, EXO, Beast, Jay Park, Rain, Se7en, and Michael Jackson are their inspiration in music.

Wrapping up their press conference, the boys shared their rituals before going onstage. Daewon, the group’s leader, said that he always exercises before going on stage, (Daewon won various MMA competitions in Korea.) Kino, the group’s main rapper, said that he tends to sit down and relax before their performance. While Habin, the group’s main dancer, told the press that he always warms up with girl group dances. Rio, the group’s main vocal, would do vocalizations, while Harang opts to just rest and relax to preserve his vocals. When asked if their are any Filipino artists they would like to collaborate with, they mentioned singer-actor James Reid.
Huwag Ka ng Humirit Performance:

A storm might have been previously forecasted last October 14, but that didn’t stop OFFROAD from setting Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines on fire with their first fan meeting in Manila. Seeing their Filipino OASIS (fan club,) Daewon, Kino, Habin, Rio, and Harang had a great time playing games with them. They even sang their debut single “Bebop” (비빕), “Head Banging” (헤드뱅잉) OHNOBRO’s “Wanna Bom” (왔나봄.) Daewon and Harang even did a cover of Im Sejun’s ‘Don’t go Today’ (오늘은 가지마,) and also danced Masta Wu’s ‘Come On’.

Staying in the Philippines for almost a week, the boys expressed their love for ‘Crispy Pata’ (Deep Fried Pig Trotters) and showed off Filipino words that they’ve learned like ‘Masarap’ (Delicious) ‘Maganda’ (Pretty/Beautiful) ‘Tara Tara’ (Let’s Go!,) etc.

They also enjoyed playing games with their fans. The first game is the “Trivia Game,” the fan who can give the correct answer will receive a Polaroid picture with the members, hugs, plus little fan service is always a bonus. The second game is the “Drama Reenacting Game” where they will reenact a break up scene, the most creative break up scene will win. And the last game is the popular Korean game “Peppero Game,” we all know that it’s an every fan girls dream to play it with their biases. After the exciting games, Filipino OASIS also had a chance to talk, mingle and gave their personal gifts to the boys on their meet and greet session.

If you want to see them perform live, catch them on their 1st Mini Concert in Manila: “OFFROAD: HORIZON,” this coming October 27 (Friday) at Teatrino Promenade Greenhills San Juan, 8pm.
