Korea Republic To Face Senegal In Pre-Olympic Warm-Up Match at Lamex Stadium, Stevenage FC

Friday Football Gives Fans Chance To See Olympic Favourites Before London 2012 – Match takes place Friday 20th July – Kick Off 2.30pm

Team GB’s first Olympic opponents Senegal are preparing for their match against the Olympic hosts by taking on the Korean Republic at Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium on Friday, July 20th, kick-off 2.30pm.

Senegal are appearing in the Olympics for the first time after defeating Oman at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena in their play-off in April. The Senegal team will face Team GB in their opening Olympic Group A match just six days later at Old Trafford.

Senegal will be up against a Korea Republic team featuring the 27 year old Arsenal star Park Chu-Young and Ji Dong Won of Sunderland.

The Korean’s, lead by Head Coach Hong Myung-Bo, Korea’s World Cup 2002 captain, play their opening match against Mexico in Group B at Newcastle on July 26th.

The match at the Lamex Stadium is open to football fans that want to get a taste of the Olympic football tournament. Ticket prices are aimed at families and students and will be available in advance and on the day from Stevenage FC.
